People need a way to bring out the indigestion in them. This is my way to bring out the indigestion and unfit in me. Am I looking for a audience? yes of course. Without audience, there is no meaning for a performance.

Vincent Van Gogh and Vaikom Muhammed Basheer

Wonder what could be the relation between this two. But i feel i should write about them together in one blog. Let me see where it leads me too.
Van Gogh is a painter and Basheer is a writer. Von Gogh was born somewhere in Europe around 1853. While Basheer was born near Travancore in South India around 1908. Van Gogh started as a art dealer and move into missionary work. While Basheer got excited about India's freedom struggle and Gandhian Philosophy.
Van Gogh suffered much depression and boring life. While Basheer embarked on a challenging journey across all over India working as a loom fitter, watchman, fortune teller, cook, newspaper seller, fruit seller, sports goods agent, accountant, shepherd , hotel manager to living as an ascetic with Hindu saints and Sufi mystics.
Van Gogh got rejected to marry his love, whereas Basheer family went bankrupt. Van Gogh got into painting in desperation. While Basheer, started writing after his failed business ventures. Van Gogh kept painting and Basheer kept writing. Van Gogh have to be admitted into mental asylum so does Basheer for few times.
Van Gogh was the pioneer of "Expressionism" painting. (This is some sort of reality distortion to give a emotional appeal to his work). While Basheer was know to be using very unconvetional language to write his stories. (Does not care for grammer or sentence correctness. Using a practical flow of language...more of a practical, reality style).
Both with sharp observation of reality try to reproduce their observation in different forms (Painting & Writing). One try to distort the reality to give its emotional appeal while another try to (undistort) using the simple language to bring the reality to light.
Aren't they related!

About Me

My photo
Singapore
VoilĂ  In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honour to meet you and you may call me V...or may be just VOKAT
